It gives the directions yes, but they are missing tons of stuff needed to complete the ROM. The current AOSP ROM is the result of the source code and directions they provided... so you can see what is lacking there. Also, ThunderRom is not made from this source. It was made from a Sprint ROM dump, and then files were optimized through zipalign and PNGOptimize. Some programs were also removed and others added, as well as the framework files being edited so that the theme looks the way it does :)

I see, so even though they released their "source" its still not complete. That blows! I had always figured roms to be made from the source, makes sense that they are from a dump though. I have seen countless things made available (apk's) that were pulled from dumps of another device.

contacting LG

Good luck getting the full ROM source code. They legally only have to release the actual open source parts (so sprint id & any "proprietary" stuff is out).

Copy N Paste-Responce from LG after requesting the complete source...

Dear Cordell,

Thank you for your continuous interest about our product.

We received your request on LG Open Source Code Distribution site.

This site is just for providing source codes of FOSS(Free and Open Source Software) we have used in our product.

We only provide source codes which have obligation to distribute by open source licenses, as like GPL, LGPL, MPL, etc.

It means that we don?t distribute all source codes of our android models.

And the distributed source codes of LGLS670 is not just for the Sprint.

(We?ve modified the label name of LGLS670.)

I hope this information will help you.

Thank you.

Sincerely yours,
