Got my ship notice today for my 5x so I thought it would be a good time to buy a Type-A to Type-C cable for data transfer etc. Alas, the Google Store has them marked as sold out. Does anyone have another source for Type-A to Type-C cables??

Ordered my spiegen last week when I ordered the 5x. Glad I did! Looks like they are out of stock. I'm sure other brands are just as good.

Amazon has a 4 pack for $15 or $20. I got 3 from a site called Gearbest for $3.65 each, $1.70 shipping.

I've ordered 5 different cables and have some thoughts based on using them in person.

This one is the best of the bunch for 3 and 6 foot USB A to USB type C. $9 and it has the narrowest and cleanest plastic that surrounds the port that goes into the phone.

I also ordered cables from Bestek and a few other brands that I hadn't heard of. They all had larger plastic housing around the port. Since the Cable Matters brand one above feels quite well made, it still gets my recommendation as the nicest type C I've seen out of the 5 popular ones tried on Amazon.

Hope that helps someone. Sean

I bought the iOrange cable also

Using it with a Nexus 6 Motorola Quick Charge 2.0 charger

Have it attached to a new Nexus 5X for 30 minutes and it went from 42% to 72% and says 31 minutes remaining

sweet. mine is still out for delivery. I'm going to try with Samsung's QC 2.0 charger and that cable to see how it goes.

From what I understand, you may be able to get 2.4a of the max 3a out of it. Not bad at all.

yeah, that's what I'm thinking. But I won't be using the Samsung one for long as I will be selling it via Swappa. I'm just going to wait for a few mroe 5V/3A USB Type-C chargers to hit the market before I buy. In the meantime, I'll just slow charge with a standard 2A charger and the USB-A to Type-C when I'm not using the supplied charger.

Is anyone besides me looking to buy a few adapters instead of cables so that you can utilize some of your old stuff?

I'm trying to go the cheap/easiest route.
