Spare battery or 3000 mah?

I have a seidio active case right now. I haven't used it in a few days. However I do need to use it if I'm at work and need to carry the phone with me.

I haven't been using the case because I missed the slim feel and no bezel getting in the way.

I was thinking of using a spare battery so I could use my case and not add any extra thickness. However my concern: will changing batteries frequently wear down the contacts over a short period of time? Or should I just get the 3000 mah?

I know on my bb 9000 I use to remove the battery a lot and out messed up the contacts over a short period of time.

Get a spare battery preferable stock.. you certainly don't want to carry around a bulky phone - do you.

I bought 2 spare batteries and a stand alone charger off ebay for around 12 bucks. It was the best thing I could have done. I don't use a case on my phone so swapping out the batteries is a breeze. I've been using them now for about 3 months and the contacts still have a lot of spring in them and I don't see them giving oujt within the next 2 years or untill I upgrade. Also you will get a lot fuller charge off using the wall mount. It will give you a full 100 percent charge and not stop at 93 pecent like it does plugging the phone directly in to charge. One warning though, if you do get the batteries off ebay most are shipped from china and you can expect to wait about 3 weeks on them.

Well i use a spare battery i have 4 of them and also bought the spare battery charger and all has been good i just pop in a fresh one when it goes down and thats all there is too it I like the idea of an extended battery but makes the phone 2 bulky and i cant use my dock or my nice samsung case that i paid 30 bucks for

Lol. Yea. I think I want the spare and external charger. This way there is always a full charge on one. Do the external chargers plug in on usb so I could charge in the car?

The charger that I got did have a USB port on it. I'm not sure if it works both ways though. Meaning, I don't know if it is used to plug a usb cord into to receive power or transmit the current. Seems to me like itwould work both ways.

I would advise against constantly attaching and removing the case as that can wear out the tabs causng them to break. I know everyone's requiements are different and everything though. Just my 2 cents. I had a seidio innocase for my palm pre and I went through 2 of those cases and I was rather mad at seidio and their products because it wasn't like I kept taking the case off and putting it back on. They would just break after a couple of months of normal phone usage with no drops. I'm rocking a seidio active x case now so I'm waiting to see how it holds up. For my work environment, it was really the best choice for my epic which is why I decided to use their products for the protection needs of my device.

I personally am never too far from a USB port, even my car has em lol.. So I just carry a spare battery just in case and have USB cords hidden everywhere as all the phones and even some other electronics use the same cord, I've built quite a collection or cords to drop around lol...

Does anyone in here have any experience with the Seidio 1600 mah extended battery vs. the stock battery?? Is this battery somewhat better than the stock battery? Even if it gives you just 10% more life, I'd like to know. I just bought my active x case and I'm not going to give it up for a fat battery. If I can improve the battery life just a little bit with a good slim battery, thats the alternative that I'm willing to get right now.

I'm in the same boat! Well, almost... I don't have an extra battery at all, but I do plan on getting one for sure. I've got USB chargers all over the place though.

And initially, I balked at the 1600mAH batteries. I mean, the phone ships with a 1500mAH battery! I hope that they come out with something that has a little more capacity than that in the same form factor. But that's probably highly unlikely.

Mobile devices are becoming so advanced, with so much hardware inside. I hope the batteries catch up to the tech!
