Speaker blew after 1 Day!

Oddly enough my speaker just blew this weekend after only having the phone for a week. Taking mine back today too.

Yours lasted a long time... Mine didn't make it out of the box. ;) I should have noticed it before I left BB. Someone tried to call me when I was there getting setup, it didn't even register with me that it didn't make any noise at the time, nor did it make any sound when they started the phone up. Anyway that was on release day and my second Epic has been fine (knock on wood) so far.

my speaker blew and i just took it to the sprint store for repair and they just swapped the speaker out for a new one. The tech told me I was listening to it too loud( yeah right). I told him its a problem and a lot of people are experiencing and more people WOULD be in for this soon.

Mine appears to be having a connection issue in the speaker, or the speaker is just shot. I had a phone call come in and the sound just didn't seem right. Had my wife call me afterwards and when I moved the screen at all, the audio would completely cut out. Go figure though, happens 2 minutes after the Sprint store closed. So tomorrow after work or during lunch will be heading to the Sprint store to exchange my phone out as I have had it a total of two weeks. They can't blame me listening to music too loudly as I haven't used it to play music and I actually still have the default ringers and stuff on it.

just a thought,

but on mine it seems the speaker is extremely loud, like if i left it full or almost full volume, the speaker will undoubtedly blow.

and with it that loud it sounds kind of tin-ish

LOL listening to it too loud? I would response "Then why did they allow the volume to go that loud?"

Effin dumb @ssI hate some of these sprint rep, they all seem to be working off a script like telemarketers.

This was one of the problems for early adopters. Mine did not have a blown out speaker (actually, all three of mine), but two had screen separation and one had unresponsive buttons.

The earpiece speaker on the Epic 4g

The call Speaker on the front of the phone is way to loud on max volume. Not sure if samsung did this on accident or on purpose but it needs to be turned down. I have mine set to about half and quality sounds perfect. When set to the max it sounds like the speaker will blow! One of the first things I noticed about the Epic.

Side note: JuJuby and Yahoo Im video chat have cause poping noises for me personal on my Epic so both have been uninstalled until there's an update for a fix. Just becareful using some video chat apps!

iv only seen one blown speaker so far since the epic's been released. everyone better make sure they have insurance..sprint's stopping taking warranty claims instore as of tomarrow
