Speaker Blown Already

First time someone called me all I could hear was garbled static, even after the phone stopped ringing. Then I tried to play some music and it cuts in and out randomly with static. Looks like back to Verizon I go. Beware the speaker.

Well that sucks. Is it just the big speaker on the back or also the ear speaker?

Have you tried pulling the battery and re booting the handset?

Yup just tried that, and when the phone reboots at the cloudy thunderbolt screen all I hear is static where I assume you should hear the infamous "Droid" or something.

I hope so, just a pain to set everything up again without being able to restore a nand backup. Think I'll have any trouble getting it replaced with a new one?

You shouldnt have any problem at all...any hardware defects are usually a cut and dry replacement.

as for having to set it all up again, that does suck.

What you should hear is a raspy clap of thunder. Have you tried it on speaker phone?

Swapped Out

Well they agreed it was faulty and gave me a new one after I had to fight with them. Naturally though, my second one has the light leakage that the first one did not.
