Speaker Phone During Calls Quality Issues? Is it only me?

Anyone notice speaker phone quality issues when on a phone call and enabling the speaker phone? People constantly tell me that they can barely hear me. Anyone else have this issue? Coming from my Nexus 4, never had an issue before.

The mic is on the bottom next to the microUSB jack so speak into it. Also, laying it flat (display up) seems to bring the noise cancelling mic on the back into play which can effect quality. Had the same complaints early on but better since I paid attention to placement.

Yes I'm having issues with this, people cannot hear me whilst on speakerphone, any ideas how to resolve

I'm having this issue with and without the speaker phone and this is my second HTC ONE. My first one had the same issue as well.
