Just curious if anyone else is less than impressed with the speakerphone audio quality. I understand even at max volume it wasn't great to begin with but I've also had people complain of audio reception issues as well they can't make out what I'm saying. Could this be software or hardware related?

It sounds a bit "tinny". The speaker is a bit small and the placement of it is pretty bad too but it looks neat. The max volume will start to hear crackles and isn't pleasent to hear. This is a hardware issue i'm pretty sure

I think we can agree that speakers in general aren't the Nexus 4s strong suit based on discussions here.

Yeah it is a real hinderance for me...really night and day compared to my GS2X. I use speakerphone a lot especially at home because I have an unlimited LD plan with my cell. Guess it might be time for me to look into picking up a cordless phone bluetooth system.

First off. We need hockey. I'm from Abbotsford.

Second. I am not a fan of the speaker either. It's pretty thin which works well for rings and notifications but not so well for music. The call quality on mine has been much better than my Samsung GS2.
