Speakerphone question

My wife recently got an Incredible (I have the Droid 1), and she insists that one time her phone went into speakerphone mode simply by taking it away from her head and setting it down (using the proximity sensor, I would presume). She said she walked to the other end of the room and carried on a conversation. But now she can't replicate that.

I have never heard of such a feature, but it does sound plausible. Is there a setting that will allow this? Is she mistaken and she must have accidentally hit the speakerphone button at the time?

I have an incredible as well ,never had that happen. I have used the speaker phone when lying phone down but had to touch the speaker button to activate it.

Maybe she just did just hit it on accident

I have had that happen twice. I think it's just a bug.
