has anyone experienced that in their EVO?

I live in SF, CA, and when I use wifi, speedtest.net application will correctly show it's testing against SF server

but when i am on 3G, speedtest shows i am near Wichita KS

I am wondering if this is just a speedtest thing, or if it's some network setting in sprint that maps me to the wrong tower.

i mean my web surfing no doubt would suck if my traffic always route to KS first!

anyone has the same thing??

yeah same thing here in los angeles cali... it's like that when i tether also

on 3g or 4g

Sprint is based in Overland Park KS. Speedtest uses the info from your IP to try to determine where you are at. So on 3G and 4G your ISP is Sprint based in KS so they think Wichita is the closest server...

I'm in Maryland and it routinely chooses servers in NYC and Philadelphia for me. I think it bases the server choice on the location of the IP address Sprint hands out to your phone.
