spen function help needed

Hi I am a new user of Galaxy note. 10.1 tablet. I was drawing with it and could not get the fill function to work. I wanted to fill some shapes with color. I clicked on dropper and it wouldn't work was also showing the color as white, yet it was on purple. ? So far I've figured most everything else out but not this

Open the snote any except Memo Select the picture icon to insert , at the bottom of the list is insert shape . Selct your shape from the selection available. While its still selected adjust size and positions as required at the bottom of the list is settings, and you should be able to fill with the colour of your choice!
