Am I the only one who doesnt use their Spen hardly at all? I'm happy with the battery life and the camera. Still not used to the size. Gosh, I just love Samsung, though! Still in my 14 day return period, may return my Note for the s9plus. I'm just not sure I am utilizing all the features of the Note?

Do what's best for you. You'll get alot of opinions on here. If you don't use the s pen and don't have to have the battery life, the s9 plus is probably a great choice. If battery life is important, there are other phones that are great as well.

Just think for a minute before you decide, you have a bigger battery, more memory (if you get the 8gb Note 9) more storage and of course the S pen.
Not everyone uses the S pen and I think people should do some research to see if they would use that function before purchase, I love the S pen but I can appreciate that it's not for everyone.

You might not utilize all the features at first but in time you might well do, try out the S9+ if you don't need all these extra features, also it may be slightly cheaper for you.

Definitely check out the s9+ which is a very good phone, but can I ask you a question? Even if you don't use the s pen function or pen does it bother you if it's there and you don't use it ? You don't ever have to pull it out but in a rare moment it's right there on demand waiting.

I really don't understand this at all. Okay, so you don't use the S pen, (never say never, you may end up using it) but you still love Samsung.

The Note 9 is just a tad larger than the S9+ you're considering getting. So what if you never use the S pen? For a couple of mms bigger than the S9+ you get a considerably bigger battery, RAM and storage (if you choose the higher model), better camera mode etc. There are significant gains over the S9+ for virtually the same size phone. The S pen shouldn't make any difference.

I hear this over and over again. People not considering the Note just because they don't anticipate using the S pen. In my case if I never anticipated using the S pen, I would have had no issue picking up the Note 9 for the rest of the phone, precisely because of the features and specs over and above the S9+.

And as mustang above me had said, can you honestly say you'll never pull out the pen and at least write notes on screen?

Going with the S9+ wont be a bad choice if you don't use the S Pen, like Samsung, and want to save some money. I am one who uses the S Pen all the time. However, it's become sort of a habit as I've owned a Note since the very first one. Good luck with choosing. I don't think you could go wrong with either of the two.

Going for the S9+ if you don't feel like paying for the S Pen isn't bad. However, if you're willing to pay the premium in the first place, why not get it? You may not see yourself using the Pen often, but at least if ever the need arises, it's there. Plus you can still use it as a bluetooth shutter key if you went out on vacation with friends for those group pictures.

You maybe having a bit of buyers remorse and finding reasons to return the phone.

I'd say give it time but if the return deadline is a deal breaker then act as you see fit.

The shutter feature comes in handy. I haven't used it on anything else like You Tube or the gallery

I wasnt sold on a Samsung, to begin with. The S Pen I have it and used it on pictures to point things out. Battery is great and plenty of storage. I dont take a lot of pictures nor do I store music. I just stream music when in the mood. But this I will tell you......If you want the best of the best and even I admit this phone is a beast! I will keep mine, maybe not as a daily driver but just to have it. That my friend is how I roll!

The S-Pen is good for editing or color matching your screen shots and makes cropping stuff more precise also.

It also comes in handy when I'm navigating a "Full Website" via Chrome Browser

I can't write with it for ****.. Js!

Just like a spare tire, fire insurance or a pistol. Better to have and not need, than need and not have.

i had the s9plus and when the note9 came out i gave it to one of my kids.
ive been a note fan since the note2 came out, and even though i don't use the spen everyday, i use it a lot. its nice to have when i do need it.

you will like the s9plus, but soon you will probably realize that the size of the phone isn't really enough smaller to make a difference, you've got a slightly smaller battery, and now no spen option. you might wonder why you traded just downgrade. or you may not lol.

i don't use all the software on the note9, but what i do use i love.

I used my S Pen for something that as far as I know, is not possible on any other phone. Someone I follow on Twitter posted a gif a few days ago and the Twitter app doesn't allow those to be saved. Got out the S Pen, tapped on Smart Select and then selected Animation. I positioned the square over the gif and hot record. It was then saved to my phone as if it was the original.

I also use it to screen cap only parts of the screen using the same Smart Select option but only selecting rectangle and you then have that selection saved to your phone or you can share it with anyone without saving.

There's so much you can do with the pen and much of it doesn't have anything to do with writing.

As for the size of the phone, I think it's just perfect. I can't go to smaller screen phones anymore.
