Spigen Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL cases

You getting the three?

Yes, had the Pixel 1, the Pixel 2, and will get a Pixel 3 to keep the string going. (Case already ordered) One thing I am going to do differently this year, is keep the Pixel 2 so I have a backup. I have no land line and think it is a worthwhile "insurance policy".

I already have 2 back up phones but one of them just got 8.0
Kind of a pain to go backwards so the 2XL would be good but it's kind of redundant for me. I also have an iPhone for work.

Sounds like you have made up your mind. My gadget of the year has been the wonderful Pixelbook. Love it to bits. So giving the 3 a miss. Luckily my P2 XL is working perfectly. I did a factory reset and it is running like new. My contract is up November 2019 so I will be buying the P4 on contract then. Still interested in what the 3 will be like. Quite exciting tbh and when it is available in Carphone Warehouse I will go and have a play with it though and study that notch.

Damn nice!! Glad to see their engineers got these done early. Last year I had to wait like a month.

I have been checking the Spigen site regularly, today the new ones showed up. I have been very happy with the Slim Armor case on the 2, got one for the 3 - black.

Is it me, or is anyone else getting the feeling that Pixel 3's will start shipping the following week (if not next couple of days after the 9th)?

There's obviously pressure to get them out before the iPhone XR (mainstream version), and OP6T (w/ carrier availability).

Something tells me they're sitting in warehouses/fulfillment centers already across the US waiting to be shipped to consumers.

I'm in New England, previous Pixel orders were filled from Carol Stream, Illinois. I have also gotten computer parts from the same place, so I'm guessing it is a distribution warehouse for several companies.

Hopefully they have the 3's already to be shipped.

I don't think anyone got the 2s immediately.

Good to hear. I've had the Rugged Armor on my 2. I also keep older phones as backups, and after I get another backup, they sit until someone on our shareplan needs a new device, although, now that we're down to 2 smartphones and one flip on our plan, there will be less need for that.

My brother (the other smartphone on our shareplan) likes smaller phones, so my old Pixel 1 should work for him. He's currently on a 2013 Moto X he got from me in 2014, having just come off a Droid Incredible from 2010, his first smartphone. And he only got rid of that because of the battery! So I suppose he'll be due for one soon. I always keep my devices in a case with a screen protector, so they're pretty much like new. Works for everyone.

I used the Ultra Hybrid for the OG Pixel. They didn't make that model for P2, so I went with the Liquid Crystal. Glad to see they're making a Hybrid for the P3 models.

EDIT: Spoke too soon. They have the Ultra Hybrid S.. I don't need the kickstand.

This would be dope AF, but sadly I can't see it. Just haven't seen that type of fulfillment. I mean the Note 9 announced Aug 10th and released on the 24th.. Just no precedence. BUT I hope you're right and I am pleasantly proven wrong.

Will be an OtterBox Defender and or Unicorn beetle case. I love them both on my GS8 and with kids I need all the armor I can get lol.

Case ordered, not sure about the screen protector, never put one on the 2.

Probably a good thing you didn't. The slight rounding at the edge of the glass seems to only ensure that tempered glass screen protectors will lift after a few months. The first one I got was from Verizon, the rest from Spigen. When it starts, you'll see an air bubble or two underneath and they just grow. I really hope that Google didn't repeat the rounding of the display glass, but I fear they did.

I love Spigen cases, but I'm going to hold off for now until the Google cases appear on the site.

BTW I think these cases might be about $10 cheaper on Amazon after launch.

That's a fair bet. Normally buying direct from the manufacturer costs more than from 3rd party retailers. But the only problem with third party retailers is availability, both when they first get them in and how well they keep them in stock.

Agreed - I have bought several cases directly from Spiegen - no issues. My mission is to decrease aggravation as much as possible.
