I'm on my second spigen screen protector and can't seem to get it to stick to the screen without getting the halo effects on the side of the screen. The protector itself is slightly curved to fit on the phone better, I aligned it almost perfectly and still doesn't stick properly... One side is fine but the other side of the screen keeps coming loose no matter how firm I press to make it stick...

You gave the answer - the screen is curved, so you're going to get a halo effect. (The protector has to be within 1/4 the wavelength of light - a VERY small amount - to prevent halos, and that would make the protector cost about as much as the retail price of a flagship phone.)

It's a film protector, and it is slightly curved on the edges to follow the shape of the screen. But it doesn't stay glued to the side of the screen and I always have to press it down to re-glue it. On one side it's perfect, not coming off but on the other side it's constantly coming off and eventually dust gets in there and needs to be replaced.
