Hi guys, prior to Android 9 update, to split screen two apps I just had to hold the III button (or whatever you call it) and it would split screen the current app and ask me to select whatever other app I wanted in the second half. Also, there was a split screen EDGE panel available which I think is now gone.

Now the split screen process seems incredibly cumbersome unless I'm missing something.

Is there a key or gesture shortcut to split screen?

And if there isn't a shortcut, wow samsung...way to make something way more complicated.

You can can download Samsung Good Lock, much better way for split screen and more

Or just look at recents and long-press the icon at the top of an app, then choose split screen (unless Samsung removed that - it's standard Android, though).

Yeah I figured that one out but very cumbersome compared to the old method. Especially when driving and I want to see maps/music.

With good lock you can just go to recent apps and drag an app to put it in to split screen or popup mode. Also when in split screen you get options to save, reverse etc.. Good lock is a must have.

If you have edge panels, simply set up your split screen pairs on the apps edge panel. Now your favorite pairs are always handy.

If not using edge panels , open both apps you want to view in split screen, tap hold the app you want to view in split screen, and options appear. Then go to recent again and open the second app. Both should now be visible.
