This past week my spotify randomly shuts off. I check the spotify settings and apps setting to allow it to run in the background. Any ideas?

Is it only shutting off when you're playing music in the background, or even when it's in the foreground? Does it only shut off after the screen has gone to sleep?

Make sure you don't have an aggressive power-saving options turned on, or 3rd party battery-saver apps installed. You can also try turning off the Battery Optimization setting for the app in the system settings.

make sure it has the latest update, can also uninstall then install again .

Same thing has been happening to me. During work outs using wired earbuds, in the car using Bluetooth. Usually during the 4th song of the playlist, doesn't matter what playlist. It's timing out for some reason. It has been going on for a few weeks. It happens to my daughter too, I have the family acct and it's just us, my husband hasn't had the same complaint. The app shuts down completely so I just restart the app, I haven't uninstalled and reinstalled it yet, that will be my next step.

Another thing to check is in settings>apps>reset apps reference. What that does is reset any restrictions the app might have had.

My Spotify was crashing Friday and Saturday. It would open and immediately crash. It was the same if I opened the app directly or through Android Auto. An update yesterday fixed the issue though.
