sprint 3g is ridiculous

Hi I'm Greg. I've had Sprint for. Couple years now but after replacing my phone a year ago I noticed the 3g has been soooo slow on my HTC EVO 4G. Im on a quest to rooting and using the msl reader to see if I can boost the 3g myself. If anyone has tips or tricks it would be much appreciated. Otherwise ill search the forums. I haven't rooted earlier cuz I just nvr got around to it. So ill b a newbie to it
