Sprint 5GB Data Cap?

My Hero is rooted and I'm using the wireless tether app that comes with some ROMs. I like the app and it works great, but I've been hearing that Sprint caps out all data plans to 5 GB. Is this true? If so, what happens if I go over that cap?

This doesnt apply on your rooted Hero. Just on the mobile broadband plans.

Pretty much all carriers cap you at 5gb per month. If you go over, youll be charged like if you didnt have a data plan, which as of 11/08 was $0.05/mb (dont know if its still the same).

if you are caught, your account may be terminated and you may be forced to pay the ETF as well for violating terms and conditions. Use the app sparingly and you should be fine. Don't download video, programs, large files using it (not that you usually can, mine starts to overheat here in Florida quite rapidly, but that could be it being like 90 outside). I commonly download ROMs straight to the phone, so my data usage is normally high (since I got the phone), so I'm using bandwidth consistently.
