Everyone pretty much knows me as a Sprint basher but NO MORE!! I sent a complaint in to the BBB about their horrible data speeds and I got a pretty quick resolution from the Executive Team. I am in the Houston Tx area and speeds here were abysmal and come to find out Sprint new this and had been working on a fix. For my inconvenience they gave me 130 bucks in credits and an additional 25 bucks off my bill for the next 4 months. They were also going to allow me out of my contract free prividing that I sent in my GS2. Well I decided to go ahead and stick it out and not only did they give me credits but the allowed me to upgrade to the GS3 with a buyout fee of 165. This was a wash since I got so much in credits. Network vision and LTE is supposed to be deployed on July 15th and I can tell you folks that its already showing. Right now on 3g im getting 120 ping 800kbps download and 240 up. With the improved network along with my brand new GS3 I am a super satisfied customer!!! GO SPRINT GO SPRINT only a couple of days away from LTE goodness!!!:D

I love it how you can go from bashing them to loving them. Flip flop much?!?! lol Welcome back you former basher you!! I've been through some MESSED UP stuff with Sprint but they've always taken care of me in the end. Thats why I've stuck it out with them!

The problem is that Sprint needs to make some type of public announcement as to what they are doing with the network and keep their customers updated on the improvements. We shouldn't have to go as far as I did to get the service and understanding we deserve.

Glad to hear it was resolved with some credit back in your pocket and an early upgrade.

I'm glad u like sprint. I love sprint too to be honest. And like u I got my S3 for dirt cheap and credit on my bill. Nice to see sprint is taking care of their customers!

Is that LTE or the new 3G network? Seems pretty low for a 4G connection........

Word. The other thread from Chicagoland is talking about speeds between 20-30+ down. That is ungodly. I'm weeping at my desk right now, as I'm probably in the tail-end of phase-2 this year.

Sprint has been real good to me. They sent me another S3 after my 14 days because the battery cover would not fit. Plus they let me upgrade both lines after only 8 months of service at the new customer price on two palm pre's when the pre launched.

Don't get me wrong, I really like Sprint. I've been with them for about 6 years and for the most part have been very happy with their service and products.

I must admit that I'm a little concerned about this new network. I happen to be "lucky" enough to be in one of the first round markets (San Antonio) but it makes me a little uncomfortable that the new network doesn't go live until the day after my 14 days are up.

The 3G speeds here in San Antonio have been beyond pathetic for the last several months. The other day I was consistently getting below 100kbps. Most of the time it's around 500-800 and very occasionally I'll break 1000.

I'm worried that in the beginning the LTE coverage will be spotty and that the 3G speeds won't be any better than they are currently.

Without the network revision, I get on average over 1000 kbps here where I live. It must've been a recent boost because last year on my GS2 I was barely getting over 200. I posted this in another thread, but here's the latest screenshot where my speed test got over 2k kbps. VERY optimistic about the network going forward.

Netflix takes a minute to buffer, but I have no problems streaming, and tethering is pretty dang nice. If it continues to improve, and LTE is as good as some early tests have shown (17 mbps range), I'll gladly stick with Sprint for years to come.

Well your lucky. I never get over 5kbps...it's painful...its just enough to stream Netflix...

I agree that can't be right. 5kbps couldn't stream anything.. Ever :x

I would love some credit and a cheap phone too.. I never get 4g and my 3g is ususally .45 kb - .5mbs . Where do I complain!!?!?!:mad:

Serious question btw... I been with em for over 10 years now.

I'm glad things worked out for the OP in the end. I'm a fan of Sprint and haven't thought about switching to a new carrier in years. I see Sprint as the sneaky carrier; whenever things seem to be at their worst, they do something awesome to make us believers again.
