Sprint Galaxy S3 - No text message sound after update

No matter what I do I can't get incoming text message to play a sound after the update. Any ideas?

I discovered that, among all the other annoying things that the update changed on my phone, it turned my Blocking feature to "always on." This meant that I NEVER received any notifications. I reset it to "between 11 pm and 7am," like I originally had it set, and this solved the problem.
