I don't know if I should be excited about it, but I don't think it is equivalent to my EVO...but oh well I guess I have to deal with until I get the Samsung

You are trading up and looking forward to trading down.

I'd take the EVO 3D over a photon any day. Specs/performance will probably be similar but you're going to lose features. I personally passed on the Photon because of how clunky it was, sorry.

I had enough of the crap HTC's poor Radio & Samsung chinzy plastic.

The Photon is da Bomb!

You will be happy with it!

God Bless

Umm... what features are these? I owned the Evo3D, and couldn't be happier to kick it to the curb. The original Evo was even a better phone.

The Photon is definitely an amazing phone, definitely not something you'll have to 'deal with' just wait and see, I'm sure you'll love it!

The 3D has one of the highest in service rates of any sprint phone and which is why so many people are off loading them to craigslist and photons are harder to find. The photon has 2 known major issues that once you have a good handset leave you with IMO the best top tier android phone on sprint from a reliability, signal, and design standpoint

The photon is the Best android phone Period as for software we don't have ICS but when we do Damn just Damn

Did they ask you or just replace it? The 3d is the only phone on sprint confirmed to get ics with the exception of the nexus.

Im sorry but the best android phone right now available on sprint is the epic touch. I have owned the evo 4g, photon, 3d and now the epic touch. The epic touch is the fastest phone i ever used not to mention it has the best camera on any phone i have used

I currently own the photon 3vo epic touch and iPhone 4s and in my opinion the photon wins overall all have pros and cons but the fact that my photon has great battery life probably due to exceptional signal strength gives it the edge

I wouldn't be to happy about this either. If your not truly happy I would call Sprint CS and talk to a manager. If I had to replace my phone I would only take another 3D.

BUT if you wanted a Photon then its a good deal for you! Do what suites you best my friend.

I had the evo 3d and upgraded to the Photon. Where i work couldnt get a signal unless i was next to a window. Now i can stream music all day. Love my Photon

I'd suggest to also be excited and happy with the upgrade to Photon. I am not a Motorola or Photon fanboy so hopefully you'll feel i'm not breathing down your neck. I just came from the Samsung Epic 4g which I loved, except for the bugs it had. I had to upgrade due to Epic's bluetooth failing despite flashing GB back to Froyo.

Anyway, I found the Photon since it was about $100-$150 cheaper than the Epic Touch on Craigslist. I have to say I really do like it. The only complain is that the screen doesn't have that amazing AMOLED look, but I would agree with others who say there are pros to it being the way it is. I also wish the camera was up to par with my Epic but at least the video is great.

Other than that it's snappy, lightweight, slim enough (I'm coming from the Epic 4g remember), smooth, and has amazing battery. Yesterday I used it throughout the day and still had 70% at midnight. My Epic 4g would have been at 15% by then.

Enjoy the phone.

I had the Galaxy II Epic 4g Touch and had to return it. The device is fast as one poster said, but I need a phone I can use at work that has a signal. I returned it for the Photon and am very happy now. I get a full signal at work and able to use the Photon for what it's supposed to be, a phone. It seems now everyone argues over how fast and snappy their device is, but never make a claim about the most important feature of the device....the phone. I don't care how fast the Galaxy II is. If the radio can't pick up a signal to make a phone call, it's nothing more than a Samsung Ipod Touch to me.

I went from the evo 3d to the nexus s and have now settled on the photon. I do not regret my desicion one bit.

You are correct, it is not an equivalent phone - it's much better! :-)

..
and now that Google owns Motorola - I'm sure it will be supported probably receiving ICS late Summer early Fall.
