Let it be made clear this is in reference to the following markets.

Atlanta, Dallas, Houston and San Antonio....

I would do a bit more research into this before people start going nuts!

And let's be clear -- Sprint itself has never announced a launch date -- just the first half of the year. A little bit of "inside" knowledge can be a dangerous thing.

Let's also be clear--Those areas are in general. I live it the so called Atlanta area and have never had 4G for my original EVO, so I doubt I will ever see LTE either.

Just my 2 Cents worth......

I live in the Atlanta area. And have had access to 4G with my OG EVO & EVO 3D. But it was spotty at best. And I never saw anything above 9mbs. Lets hope LTE is better.

When ever they decide to turn it on that is.

I just hope they launch round 2 of LTE before the end of the year.
I think they will. First, as Verizon has launched each of it's LTE markets they have not been 100% finished. Once launched they continue to fill in or finish out each market until 100% completed. I have also noticed this since day one here locally with VZW.

With regards to Sprint's LTE launches:

6/8/12

In recently seen correspondence, Sprint has decided to move up launches sooner than 50% completion. This is likely to maintain a Mid 2012 launch in San Antonio. If they waited for 50% now, it would delay launch until August. In the case of San Antonio, should Sprint launch prior to the end of June, they would only be complete with approximately 35% to 40% of all NV sites. This doesn't sound like a lot, but it would provide pretty good coverage. A little known item is not even Verizon launches on all sites in a market initially. Usually less than 50%, then filling in with more and more sites every few months.

Man That's encouraging!
Hows battery life?

Well as of earlier tonight I can no longer get an lte signal but for the two days I had it battery performance wasn't as bad as what I thought it was going to be. If I had to reasonably quantify battery life while on lte vs just on 3g I would say maybe 20% loss. Based on my usage I have been getting about 15 hours of battery life on the evo, with lte I would say I have gotten closer to 12 using the phone in the same manner. But of course there are many different factors that will determine individual mileage.

Yea..but when Verizon turned on LTE in Atlanta from day 1 they had the whole city blanketed for the most part. They came back in and thickened up the coverage but there were few if any places inside of I-285 where you couldn't get service. I figured Sprint would screw this up some type of way.

I've always wondered what 4G and/or LTE would be like.. If I went a block from my office, I'd get 4G with my previous evos. At home, no such luck... I go to the central valley and am flooded with it.. I do hope Sprint lights up LTE in the East Bay, where I can actually use it.

How have they screwed it up?
