Well Boost is a Sprint subsidiary, so I don't think it's much different. I know back when I had Boost it was using an iden network (slower/worse reception), but I'm not sure if it still does. I do know that Sprint's 4G Wimax network is available on Boost since Sprint is switching to 4G LTE like Verizon, so I would assume it no longer uses the iden network, but that's just a guess.
If you want to look it up, the two major network types that cell carriers use are CDMA (Sprint and Verizon) and GSM (AT&T and T-Mobile iirc). Boost was formerly Nextel which used the iden network and was the only carrier to do so, again if I remember correctly.
