For those of you holding out for a Sprint HTC Hero....good news

Sprint just reduced the price $30.00 to $149.00 after $100 mail in rebate. It was $179.99 yesterday.

Maybe Sprint wants to clear inventory to make room for a replacement???

They also reduced the Samsung Moment from $179.99 to only $99.99 after MIR

Hummmmmm........What's going on???

What are you waiting for???

I'm waiting for someone to make a smart @ss comment about how you sound like a salesman for Sprint. Oops, looks like I just did.

eh, a bit sales pitchy, but for those who are looking to get one for someone else, or another line and have waited for the price to drop, this is good news.

I know personally I dont check the sites often so the deal could be running asnd done by the time I realize, or I would wait for no reason.

Hmm, why is it reduced? Maybe because sprint lost more customers this past quarter. That could be it. Probably because their flagship phone is a piece of crap and a "better" version of it is on Verizon. Or maybe its the customer service. Or maybe its because the price of electronics decrease over time. Yeah, I think all of these could be part of the reason.

Oh the trolls can't resist.

Maybe it's because they're getting ready to launch a higher end Android device.

Exactly what I was about to say. New device is probably right around the corner. Or at least I hope so for the sake of people who are on the Sprint network.

I think Sprint is suspiciously quiet. Even their Twitter account that is normally blazing with tweets has been silent.

Personally I'm torn between picking up a T-Mo Nexus One and waiting to see what Sprint has up it's sleeve. My only problem with T-Mo is while they have great coverage here in my area of FL, back home in the OC, Laguna Beach to be exact their coverage is kind a little too spotty for me.

The only reason I made the comment is because any time Sprint reduces the price of their phones usually is in preperation of a replacement coming and they want to reduce their inventory of Hero and Moments.

Reducing their two Android phones by $30 and $80 bucks respectively is a big deal.
True the 3rd party resellers (Radio Shack, Amazon, Best Buy etc.) have low prices out the gate, but when the carrier lowers their price might indicate something doesn't it???

Let's hope so.

7droid yes, it's normally a sign of changes in their line-up when they start reducing prices. However, I don't think $30 on the Hero is enough, could be they have an abundance of stock and they're trying to stimulate sales.

Hero's got a lot of R&D to pay for though. HTC/Sprint/Google all spent extra time and $$ getting out the first CDMA device and someone has to pay for it. Of course someone always means you and I :)

30 bills may be all they think they can afford to cut until something else is actually on the shelf and selling.

This is for anyone interested... If you need a Hero/Moment (or any Sprint phone) it's $1 brand new from me. Just PM me and i'll tell you how. I've helped plenty of people on this board that can verify this.

I hope so too. I made a thread regarding the imminent launch of the HTC Supersonic shedding some light on when it might be available.

I am only waiting for April 1st, when my Premier account allows me to upgrade. Counting the days till then. Wish they would let me do it early without penalty. Getting very anxious to get rid of my Samsung Instinct that is only a year old and switch.

For beta testing the Instink they should give you two phones on your Premier date :)
