I am still in pending status on my preorder, so I was wondering before they ship this thing, if I should go through with it. So how is the phone treating you on the Sprint network? Any issues? Data speeds good?

Thanks for your time,
Allan

While I don't have a Sprint SIM to test, my T0Mobile SIM works great in my Google store Pixel! :) This AC blog indicates the Pixel (and Pixel XL) will work with any carrier, Sprint included! They ALWAYS say when it's a no bueno for Sprint. i.e. "GSM carriers only"

I understand that, I just wanted to hear from some actual users. There is a thread about calls being dropped quite frequently on Verizon, I just wanted to know if Sprint users had been seeing any issues.

I have been using it on Sprint for three weeks. Never had a dropped call. That being said I have had some trouble with SMS. Not sure if it is the network, the phone or the app but at times my texts will group up and only come in when I restart the phone. Pixel support had me clear the cache of the app and it has been good so far but time will tell. Other than that I have had no problems using it on Sprint.

That is good to know. Hopefully the SMS issue isn't serious. My order just switched to Processing, so I will hopefully see mine this week.

It only started in the past week when the app updated so I am thinking it is the app. It has been half a week since I tried their solution and no problems so you should be good.

Woo hoo! Now for my status to change from Processing to Shipped.

One of the great things about the Pixel's is the support. They are available 24, 7 and they are committed to resolving your problem. I have already called several times, and had solutions each time. I used to think (and still do) that Apple Support was the best, but Google is giving them a real run for their money! (Plug for Amazon support too, they are also pretty good!)

I've had a ton of issues with it thus far across wifi and network connectivity. I can almost confirm after reading the issues I've seen on the forums that it is most definitely an issue with the phone and not Sprint.

It's been reported by some that have contacted Google that it is a software issue and due to 7.1 so you basically may or may not get lucky. It's not tied to a specific network as people in South America , Canada and many other countries that are with other carriers are experiencing connectivity issues and dropped calls and no 4g lite connectivity either

yup Sprint seems to be just fine. I did an LTE speed test while in the waiting room at the dentist, I was shocked:

Nice, easy to make me cry, my home broadband is barely that fast... I've seen Sprint speed tests in the 30s and 40s here but never 50+. :( Not that it'd really make much of a difference to my daily use.

What are you all using for visual VM btw? GV? Sprint's app still doesn't work outside their phones no? Anyone on an old hotspot-less plan care to comment on whether the Pixel still allows them to block it and/or whether the SIM trick (taking it out/in and activating before it's recognized) works at all?

I'm satisfied with Sprint overall (coverage, speed, etc) but I'm thinking of leaving over some inconveniences like the two mentioned above... The fact that I'm on a truly unlimited plan and have an Airave at home are probably the only things holding me back.

The newer/throttled plans (w/free hotspot) aren't terribly appealing, if I'm gonna do that I might as well go to Project Fi or to an AT&T family plan to save a buck... Currently paying $64/mo (via discount) and using <2GB, ~4GB if I draw the average across 2 years rather than just the last 12 mo.

I barely see 60 MBs on my home broadband, so 100 plus was crazy. Home LTE speeds are barely above 10 MBs, the dentist office must be right under a tower or something.

I use hangouts for VM. I am also on an unlimited plan. Hotspot not working out if the box, I imagine it would if I subscribed. I have never heard of the sim trick.

Have had horrendous issues with the Pixel XL on Sprint since day one and no one seems to be able to help me. I rarely ever get any texts and forget about group mms, those never come. Also, I don't get 7 out of 10 phone calls. I have factory reset phone twice, changed SIM twice and now I'm on my second phone (Google RMA'd the phone for me after 2 weeks of not getting it to work correctly) still have the same issues. Now I am waiting for my 3rd SIM from Sprint international) hoping that the first 2 SIM's I got were wrong. Will update when I get the new one.

I just noticed the weather icon is accurate now used to just show either sun or cloud and sun. Anyone else notice this change
