I think he's referring to upgrade eligibility. Either way, Tri band is good news for the Sprint Network. :)

That it is in the G2 makes the phone even better. :)

The User's Guide was for the Nexus 5, not the G2.
Pretty close variant though. ;)

I was on the fence before, but now with this announcement, LG G2 will be my next!

I'm not positive but I think the tri-band is 800mhz, 1.9ghz and 2.5ghz and I don't see the 2.5 ghz mentioned for the N5!
The N5 already has a -1 for me because of the smaller battery but was still thinking of it, but If it doesn't have tri-band this will make my decision to get the G2 so much easier;)

But they didn't even get it right. It has nothing to do with the phones not able to do SVLTE. Sure, they can't do that because of a design choice to have only one radio as a way to save battery.

It is about CFSB and eCFSB. Certain markets do not support it, but they seem to indicate that Sprint doesn't care. I can assure you that they do.

Not only that the article, and certainly the title, seem to indicate this is everywhere across the whole Sprint network. It isn't. If I recall correctly, S4GRU says 60 - 70 percent of markets handle this just fine with more and more everyday.

EDIT: I was a little off, here is what the article says:

Currently, just over 60% of Sprint sites have their sites upgraded to new Network Vision 3G standards which allow Circuit Switched Fallback capability. However, not all 60% of these sites are currently allowing LTE to work on a Triband device. These all should be capable of using LTE on a Triband device now, or in the next few weeks. Many of these markets will need to have their MSC Switch Center?s software upgraded too for CSFB to work.

From the way I understand it, if the tower hasn't received the 3g upgrade, the triband phones won't stay connected to LTE. Sprint is working on this, it sucks, but it'll great when fixed.

From what I'm reading, the G2's Spark update is in final testing and it's being run on Android 4.2.2. So pobably no kit-kat with this Spark update.
