Static at low bookings

When I'm listening to Pandora, etc. there's intermittent static. I previously had an HTC EVO and it was dead silent.

I added an equalizer app on both just so that we're comparing apples to apples and can't get rid of the static.

Anyone going this an issue? Solution....?
