Status bar colour changes

Is there a way that I can stop apps and websites from changing the colour of the status bar? I initially thought it was something wrong with the os, but now I see its a 'feature'.

I really would like to put an end to it as I think it looks cheap and invasive, as well as losing control over part of my phone's theme.

Welcome to Android Central! There's probably some way if you root the device--which one do you have? Otherwise, you could consider an alternate launcher, but that still might not affect the status bar.

Hi. I have an LG g3. I'm not going to root my phone as I've only just got it. Lol. I guess it's just another "put up and shut up" feature. :-(
