After I posted the below problem, I realized that I used the wrong TITLE.
The problem is with the STATUS BAR, although AT A GLANCE has problems of its own.

I just discovered that the Battery %on the Status Bar is correct at Boot time, but doesn't change during use during the day.
The Battery % does decrease on the Battery level indicator in the SETTINGS section during the day.
It seems that such a simple fix for Google.
I am hoping that it will be fixed by the promised update in the 1st quarter of 2022, but I am tired of going to the Settings or Lock Screen during the day to check the %.
Has anyone found a fix? Thanks.

I changed the thread title to better reflect your question.

I recall that you typically modify the dpi of your screen through the Developer Options. Have you tried reverting back to the default dpi and seeing if it helps this issue (as well as others you might have)? Developer Options are not guaranteed to work smoothly for day-to-day usage of a phone -- that's why they're intended for developers, not really for the standard user. I wouldn't be surprised if changing the dpi might mess up something in the status bar.

I've deactivated the Devopers Opinion when we discussed another problem earlier.
Everything is running smoothly otherwise.
This issue is annoying because I don't know what the Battery level is unless I go to SETTINGS/BATTERY or go to the LOCK SCREEN.
What really annoys me is the fact that the Device shows correctly in two areas, but not on the STATUS BAR. When I turn on the Pixel 3, the % on the Status Bar is correct. It just doesn't update during the day.
Years ago, I was a Computer programmer and this problem would never happen.
This problem didn't exist in Android 11. I have real difficulty understanding how this could happen and I'm not confident that Google will fix it with the promised update in the 1st quarter of 2022.
Thanks for listening to this old crank

Glad to hear you deactivated Dev Options, but I'm wondering if just deactivating them will immediately revert all of those options back to default. Does your screen still show everything big? Did you actually go to that Dev Option for DPI and drop it back down to default before deactivating them?

Yes, the screen and DPI is back to the original (default) settings.
Actually, I discussed this problem in a previous thread. It seemed that other users were having problems with AT A GLANCE. One of the problems was that the Calendar was gone. Some users found that if you disabled WEATHER, the calendar would appear. I need both, so I just placed the Calendar icon on the home page as a workaround. I have seen postings that state a fix is coming with the promised update in the first quarter of 2022.
As I have said many times, this problem should not have happened during an upgrade. To repeat, if the % is correct when the Pixel 3 is first turned on, is correct and increments properly in the BATTERY SETTING and LOCK SCREEN, why doesn't it increment on the STATUS BAR.
Thanks again for hanging in there with me.

I'd guess some glitch in the firmware. Factory reset might be the next step, sorry.

I figured that was next. I'm not going there. I hope that the promised update in the 1st quarter of 2022 will fix it. I'll just live with my workaround.
Thanks again.

Does the battery icon work properly? If it does just turn the battery percentage off. It's definitely an issue with your software, my 3XL battery percentage is working fine on Android 12. I've actually found I prefer not seeing the battery percentage... it can be a little distracting. And you get more room in your status bar for other notifications. That's just my experience though ;)

BTW where did you hear about the pixel 3's getting another update? Just curious... that would be awesome if we got one more :D

"Different strokes for different folks " Yes the Battery % in the Settings/Battery works fine and changes during the day, as does the % on the Lock Screen,. That's what blows my mind. The % works well in 2 applets, but not in a 3rd. And the Status Bar is correct upon BOOT UP, but doesn't change thereafter.
I've always used the Battery % icon on the Status Bar since I've had Smartphones. I guess that since it doesn't work, I could turn it off. I really don't need any more space on the Status Bar.
Insofar as the promised update for the Pixel 3 and 3 XL, it was posted around the same time as the normal December update in early November.
Here's one of the posts.

"Both the Pixel 3 and the Pixel 3 XL will receive one final update from Google in the first quarter of 2022. Google's phasing out of the Pixel 3 and 3 XL has been a steady process, with sales of both models being halted back in 2020. They've also since passed by their final guaranteed updates date of October 2021.Nov 3, 2021"

Anyway, if we don't communicate before Christmas, have a great holiday. You personally, have been a great Christmas gift for this group.

I'm sorry I didn't make my response to the last post very understandable. Your answer to the question about where I saw that Google was going to update the Pixel 3 and 3 XL. The answer is in the bottom of that wordy post.

Thanks for sharing that... I'm glad we're getting one more update to clear out a few more bugs, and maybe even get a few more features :p
