Ok, so I have been a Revo owner since about the end of July. I have my issues with it but I like the phone. I do not have the phone rooted and I did do the Verizon update back in August.

My issue right now though is that every so often (3 to 4 times a week) I get the update available showing in the status bar and when i select it to see what is available for update, the phone directs me to the Android Market, where there are no updates available for apps I have installed.

Anyone else have this issue? It's not a big deal, but it is kind of annoying.

If you are using the new market, you have the ability to use multiple Google accounts. If this is your case, make sure you are looking at the correct account. When the notification takes me to the market, it often takes me to the account on which there are no updates. I then have to switch accounts via the menu to see the updates available.

yea, I've received at least one of these messages a day (often more) since I've purchased my Bionic.

could it be because I've got most of my apps set to "auto update", and by the time i get to the message, it has already got the app up to date?

umm that's not it cause none of my apps are set to install automatically and I still get the message every day.
