status bar - size of symbols and brightness

does anyone know how to change (bigger) the size of the symbols in the status bar? and make the status bar a bit brighter?

appears to me after the ICS update, they got 'cripser' looking (could be me eyes though?) but smaller and harder to read...? (which could be my eyes again...?)

It's not your eyes. I believe the font changed. But damn, it's small and not very readable(IMHO). I don't think there is a way of changing the size or brightness...it's been mentioned a couple of times here in the forum and I haven't seen a remedy.

Maybe with the next update...

I was watching this thread because I have the same concern.

I had a Droid X before my Razr Maxx and the status bar was much easier to read. It also seems like the readability of the status bar took a step backwards with ICS.

I have Beautiful Weather display the temperature on the status bar - on the Droid X it was easy to read but on the Razr Maxx it's almost invisible.

I suspect this is due in part to the fact that ICS was supposed to unify phones and tablets. I wonder if the font size ended up being looking too small on a phone screen, since on a 7" or 10" tablet, it would proportionally look right. I noticed a similar issue with the latest Google Play app versions, where all of the tiles and text seem smaller and denser than before.
