Stay Awake turns off after a few days

I'm having a problem where the "Stay Awake" option turns off after a few days (Settings -> Applications -> Development -> Stay Awake). I use the standard dock at night as my charger. I wonder if it could be causing it to turn off. Is anyone else having this issue?
