Steering wheel controls

On my 2018 Ford Fiesta with Sync the call answer and disconnect buttons on the steering wheel don't work with Android Auto. I know those buttons function because they work with the phone isn't plugged in. Anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?

Bluetooth control of phone calls is separate from android auto control. Connect to Bluetooth first, then connect to android auto, and it works on my 2017 vw gti.

No, you don't have to do that. When the first time you connect the phone to Android Auto, BT is automatically pair for you. However, map physical buttons on the car to the corresponding functions of Android Auto is the job of your car's head unit. OP, talk to your dealer to see if there is any firmware update to the radio to enable this functionaries. I have no problem using steering wheel buttons to pickup and handup calls from various car's Android auto.
