Stepping up from original Droid

It seems I have an unexpected upgrade credit from VZW, so I'm thinking about moving up to a new phone, possibly a Droid X or Incredible, or maybe the Fascinate.

I know the best thing to do is head down to the VZW shop for some hands-on quality time with the other phones, but I'm interested in hearing from other people who might be considering doing the same, or have already done so.

What are you considering moving to?

What do you think you'll miss the most from the original Droid?

Its between the X and the Fascinate. I really like the looks of those Samsung Galaxy's! I think 4" really is the sweet spot on screen size, although I have played with a Droid X and it really didnt seem too large to me.

InformationWeek has an article today about battery life ("Four Friday Android Anecdotes") that rate the X really great in that regard. Dunno if this helps your decision or not.

I agree... 4" does seem to be where it's at. I've played a bit with a DX already, and my impression was that the screen *is* a bit too large, but I don't think it's something that I couldn't get used to.

It does help - thanks for the info! :)

I like the form factor of the Fscinate/Galaxy S series as well. I also like the fact that the Galaxy S line shouldn't be hard to root, unlike the late Motorolas.

The X and Fascinate are what I have my eyes on but mostly the X because of the larger screen and feel.

Might want to hold off for a bit until more info comes out about the new 4.3 EVO like device that's going to be hitting Verizon shortly. That's what I'm doing - check the front page.

I was offered a great deal and switched from a D1 to an X last month. I'm telling you right now that you won't be disappointed with the X. It's an awesome device.
