still have green tint on main camera =(

This may seem very obvious so please forgive me but since you just received a replacement are you certain all updates have been applied? People who have had that issue are reporting that they no longer have it. I have noticed myself that I don't need to change the default settings quite as often as previously.

Same, so there are still some of us out there.

I'm not suprised that some or many of you have this problem. I don't think that this update was for or about the camera issues and will not happen untill the next real update.

please someone who clearly has this green tint issue try some testing of the following....

in outdoors, take it off of auto white balance and try daylight.
indoor shots with normal light bulbs, try incandescent.
shooting in an office, try florescent.

the whole point is that AUTO for white balance is not working that well and can lead to poor white balance results. shoot with and without flash as needed, but if no flash indoors, try ISO 400.
see if it gets any better or not. a reply with pics would be nice.

thanks in advance

I can attest to the fact that changing the default settings according to subject matter and environment works.

oh, I know it works. I just wana know from the people who get the green tint a lot, how much it helps "THEM".

now I'm the type that when I see a problem on this forum about our phone, I try to replicate it. sadly, even on all "auto default" settings, I only got 2 images that had green tint in it (out of maybe 20 test shots). that's only a 10% green tint issue as compared to what some people have posted, being quite a bit higher (say the 50% to 80% range).

it's such people, who this problem is the most effected, I want to test this out.

I didn't have the problem to the extent some people reported either. It does seem, though, that with the latest update I don't have to change settings as much. Lol, it could just be in my head. I take tons of pictures and have never had the camera lock up either. And changing the review duration to no review has allowed me to take pictures in rapid succession. I really hope people having issues will read the article I posted and follow our tips because they will enjoy the camera so much more.

has anyone that has the issue have a tech remove and reseat the camera module itself?

Look into your camera settings, it will make the difference... did it myself and solved it.

That's the point....it works if you try it.
At least it should work even for the people who have the most problems. But only they can say for sure if it helps or if they are still having major problems.

I'm glad that it helped for you.

sorry for my delay i almost forgot about this post. i got my replacement 2 weeks after the prerelease. all updates applied... no tweaks, no hacks or roots... just stock..

bums me out other camera apps do it too. =( oh well.

i am aware from the past about the auto white balancing but i wish there was a hot fix for its general settings.

one can dream right?

Here are examples of my White Balance results with flash

1: Auto: obvious green tint

2: Cloudy : Represents the light in the room accurately

3: Daylight I think very slight green tint you almost have to look for it

4: Flourescent Almost same as Cloudy

5: Incandescent I like the blueish effect sometimes you may desire this

The best representation of the room is Cloudy.

I'm not a camera expert or software expert but it seems that if they adjust the auto setting closer to to Cloudy that would get rid green tint. I think it's where they have the Auto setting set. We who own the phone are the real world testers.
