Still haven't received Froyo

Hi All!

I still haven't received Froyo. I've manual checked it multiple times and it always says there are no updates available. Of course I tried restarting, unchecking auto update and still nothing.

Any ideas?

I tried it several times on 2 different computers.

The software reads my current version type and then begins installation.
But after a few minutes I get an error that says USB connection error and the software can't connect to my phone.

I have no idea....

I have an idea. Root.

if you rooted, you will need to remove the root and then you will receive Froyo

Are you checking firmware updates or HTC Software update?

lucky, i wish i could go back to 2.1 lol this way i could root to 2.2

Are you sure you're not running 2.2 and just don't know it? This seems a little hard to believe.

if you still havent recived it i would root it and get the free tethering but if you do the up date then you have to wait to get it rooted imho root unless you are afraid of messing up your phone

I have never tried to root the phone. I called Sprint today and of course got tossed around till I got advanced tech support. Their answer.. take it to the store.

But I'll take everyone's advice and try rooting...

Oh man, I had the same problem. My HTC updater wasn't working correctly. I simply did a factory reset and it solved the problem. It wipes all your apps and user data... Which is a pain, but it worked for me.
