Still using old radios

I'm still using the radios from when I flashed the first couple ruu updates back from last summer. Since then I have rooted and have yet to flash any updates. Is it necessary? Where can I get those radios if I should update them?

The newest radio is the 605.9, and I believe it is the same radio as the 605.5 update. Remember you have to flash radios by renaming them PG05IMG.zip and putting them on the root of the SD card and flashing through hboot (volume down while powering on). If you're getting good signal performance it's not really necessary to flash the latest one, but I don't recall anyone having problems with the new ones.

I have pretty good signal, but my download speeds could be better. How do I know if I have the 605 radios?

Some of the first few radio updates provided significant improvement (or a drastic step back) in performance. Since then, I personally don't feel any of the more recent updates have really changed that much, but that's just my opinion. Frankly, if your phone is working fine, I don't think that updating the radio should a *top* priority.

As far as where to find them? Most of them had been posted a while ago, but when most of the free hosting sites were taken down, a lot of the available download links became dead.

If I were looking for radio files, my first two stops would be XDA Developers and Rootzwiki

just updated from the 01 version to the .3 version--hoping to get my speeds back up to par after months of putting it off.

around Charlotte, NC--I'm seeing horrible 4g speeds.
about 1.5mb down & 2mb up (tested at different locations @ diff times)

really not liking LTE anymore with this type of performance--hopefully it's just network saturation w/ 4g devices, but this is really pitiful, esp considering Charlotte was one of the first in the series of rollout LTE cities.

Thanks for the link, flashed the latest radios and signal strength has been great so far, will update after a couple of days

It's always hard to tell if it's the network or the device that's responsible for slow download speeds...

For what it's worth, I'm still running the "From the 2.11.605.0 RUU" radio, and here in DC (also one of the first LTE cities) I just ran a test and got 9MB down and 8MB up.
