Stinking Screen Overlay Error

Uhg, I use Swapps and Swipe Pad, and any time I download a new app that requires a permission request, I get this stinking Screen Overlay error. I have to go into settings and disable the screen overlay functionality of both the apps, open up the newly downloaded app again, accept all of it's permission requests, then reenable Swapps and Swipe pad. Super stupid for Android to be causing this error to show up every time. Anyone know of a workaround besides the one I just described?

Hate it too. It only happens to me, though, when I have Facebook Messenger's floating chat heads on the screen. If I just swipe them away, I can authorize permissions without having to disable the overlay for the app.

I have had this happen with a game. Not seen this before on any other Android device out of about twenty I have owned. Phone and tablet.

Happens with some apps on others running Marshmallow. I've had it on my Note 5 before.

I don't have any battery saver apps or cleaning apps, just swapps and swipe pad. The reason I know it's these two apps is because when I disable them from their screen overlay functionality, I can do the permission requests, it's when they run normally that they give me issues.
