Well thank you very much! I really appreciate that! Lot of time and work went into that of course hahaha I finally convinced myself to disable TouchWiz Launcher completely for Nova Launcher Prime and all the Google Now shortcuts. Essentially pixel launcher on an S8 of course haha.Looks great!!
What do you mean by you gave in to TouchWiz though? At first I had everything set up with Samsung in mind. Except for the gallery. I need Google photos on my phone! I had a Google folder setup and my aptra and we're going to my Google search app all the time but it got so tedious and annoying to have three clicks just for one who are Google application so I just hit the bullet like I said and when Nova Launcher/ Google Now pixel everything! I will admit that I still use the Galaxy phone dialer and one or two other Samsung applications like the family engine but other than that everything else is custom applicationsI did the same thing for a bit but got frustrated with the Galaxy apps especially gallery. And gave into TouchWiz lol.
Well, like I said, on that notion I used to use a lot of Galaxy apps but they had limitations and they weren't as customizable as other custom Play Store Android applications are. The reason I I'm still using the Galaxy phone dialer as because I do have a theming engine as you can tell on my phone and red and blue and since it's a stock Samsung Galaxy application it's still completely themed out just the way I like it to be! The difference with the third party custom applications is they're not custom themed from Samsung. And yes I love having stock Android pixel look on my S8 of course! I was going to wait for the new pixel 2 XL phone to come out but basically my older Nexus 6p had the inevitable bootloop OS issue and I just wasn't able to hold out and wait for the new phone to come out I love my S8 but I also love the look of stock Android. I do think that touch was on the S8 is much much improved I just still love the look of the pixel launcher the best! And the way that you can do a Google search on your Google Now cards real quickly for convenience!I will definitely have to try again. I was using a Google dialer and messages along with photos. Just ran into to many road blocks with using other apps. I still use the other apps but have given into the Samsung ways for a bit. I patiently wait for you guys to figure it out for us less phone techy folks. And I do appreciate what you guys do. Thank you
Yes and I completely agree with you too. The one horrible thing that Google screwed up with the first generation pixel phones was that they weren't waterproof they weren't even water resistant if you spilled a little bit of water on it you're screwed up the entire following immensely for a $650 phone that's unacceptable. I love the fact that the essay does ip68 water and dustproof. I mean I'm not saying we're going to go diving with the fish anytime soon but if it falls into a pool what if they get stuck in the rain or hits a snow like a skiing or snowboarding it's nice to know that the phone's not going to die! Would that being said yeah I have a package disabler application from Samsung from the Play Store and official application to disable any bloatware that I wanted or didn't want and I finally convinced myself to disable TouchWiz Launcher and put Nova Launcher Prime on my phone along with the Google Now launcher pixel Google Now cards. Now, as far as do I still like Samsung Galaxy applications depends on which application it is. At first I was so married to the Samsung messaging application that I wouldn't think twice about switching apps but sure enough there are other apps that are even more customizable and have crossed syncing functionality for free such as they Verizon messaging Plus application it's the only application Verizon is created that is actually worth using. Other than that like I said, the only other Samsung Galaxy app that I'm currently using is a phone dialer app and that's pretty much it. No as far as the UI on my phone like I said I love the pixel stock native Android look and feel. I love being able to access my Google Now info cards at a moment's notice and I love having quick and convenient access to a Google search whenever the heck I need it! And as you can tell I still have the the 3D touch shortcuts when I need them. Now, will the pixel 2 XL be awesome? I'm sure but I doubt it will be bezel-less. Abdul 3D stereo speakers and pray to God Google makes it ip68 waterproof because the phone is going to be near $900. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Nova Launcher is the right answer for everyone. You have to be pretty technical to set up Nova Launcher and it's very customizable. And I still agree that TouchWiz Launcher is great on the S8 compared to older Samsung Galaxy phones.True. I miss my Nexus 5x as well. I do love and miss the stock experience. Pixel 2 will be for me if it has water resistance. That was the main reason for the s8 for me.
