Sorry if this is a noob question, I have never tried flashing any rom on my android devices before, but is there anyway I can just get the jelly bean installation file and install stock andriod 4.1 on my one x, like I can with a windows install disc? Thanks for your help.

As far as I know, there is no working ROM for 4.1 on the AT&T HOX. So the answer is no. You can however get 4.0 with CM9 or AOKP.

There's a "working" JB Rom, but a lot of the stuff is broken. Guess for people to test and play around with it.

I thought this was for the international HOX

Thanks. Is CM9 clean stock from google, or is it modded? I've googled and from what I can tell it seems like its modded but not sure. Sorry for all the questions, I'm new at this.

CM9 and AOKP are customized versions of sock ICS but they are almost the same.

Is there any rom you would rate as closest I could get to stock 4.0/4.1 for my One X?

Both CM9 and AOKP will get you pretty close and the add ons are actually enhancements that stock ICS does not have. The bigeest problem is that both are unofficial ROMs and they have a few bugs due to the lack of source kernel.

What kind of enhancements? The reason I want stock is that I figure it would have better performance, meaning less crashes, battery life, and more consistence performance with less stutter and everything just consistently working. I don't care about the "look" of stock android, just want the best performance.

If you want the best performance from a custom ROM, I would try CleanROM. It is a debloated sense 4.0. It comes with MODs that can help you enhance mutitasking and OC. It has better battery life and runs smooth as butter. The current CM9 and AOKP ROMs are pretty good but without source code there are still plenty of bugs. The enhacements are related to battery, lock screen and other options that make the experience more enjoyable to the user by allowing it to be customized.

There are no guarantees though. Just remember that. Instead of asking around, I would recommend for you to read up and learn what you're getting yourself into so you don't do anything foolish and end up bricking your device.

According to everything I've read there is not a way yet to unlock the bootloader, root the phone, and use custom apps for the att HOX...so I'm super intrigued by this discussion. Could someone point me in the right direction for getting stock ICS on my HOX...I love HTC hardware but I can't stand their software. I had hear that Sense was toned down with Sense 4.0...but not enough for me. I need me some stock!

Thanks in advance peeps! ;)

awesome! wasnt sure if it was just me or what but i have noticed a fairly good increase in battery life with clean rom 4.0 and the multitasking works how it should. :D

We have root, you can unlock the bootloader and flash away any ROM. Go to xda-developers for more info.
