Stock Email App Issue with Yahoo Account

i'm not sure if this is a problem on Yahoo's end or the Nexus 4 end but whenever i disconnect from wifi or cellular signal, it takes some time before my Yahoo email account (IMAP) reconnects; i get the message: "couldn't sign in" to yahoo.

which is annoying because within the stock email app, i also have 2 Outlook accounts (non-corporate, exchange) and an AOL email (IMAP) (yes, who the hell uses AOL anymore?!) but those accounts don't have trouble reconnecting....anyone have suggestions?

i did a google search about this issue but the answers were to dl the yahoo client...at one point, i did have the email client for yahoo and outlook but i prefer to simplify my emailing by using the built-in app.

mine seems to work once then fails until I remove the imap account and recreate it then it works for an hour or 2 then I get the couldnt log in error again. putting the pw back in doesn't fix it but oddly enough the password in smtp works fine. I think they are trying to force everyone to use the app so you can enjoy more advertising than email. If I didn't need a "so I have to give you an email address that works" account I would delete it. I did read elsewhere that IMAP even though it appears to be android friendly is really for iphone only.

So far I'm not experiencing any problems after updating to KitKat 4.4

I couldn't even get the Yahoo app to connect to my Wife's account on her new SGS3. Kept saying user name or password was wrong, even though we tried 6-7 times.
The stock e-mail app was no better.
Yahoo has made so many changes lately, it's become almost unusable, even on the desktop PC.

Nvm, same issues with 4.4; just got the "Couldn't sign in" notification... the problem is definitely on Yahoo's end
