Stock email app stops after a few hours

My email stops updating after a few hours... If I turn the phone off and back on, it starts to update whatever emails it hasn't downloaded while it was ... sleeping!!?? It receives and sends fine... when it works at all, but then it just stops... In the 'Manage Apps' section it says it's "E-Mail version 7.." but doesn't identify it's origin other than that..? Dave

Unfortunately, the stock email app is known for that issue. Polling times don't stay synced properly with certain server types. Exchange seems to be one of the few that does work well. Most people, including myself, tend to use different email apps like Gmail or K-9 (available on the market) which work much better.

Yeah the Stock email app SUCKS, DL09 was supposed to fix this issue I thought.....Since DL09 my stock mail app has improved. Do you have the most recent update?

Gmail always worked great for me. The other mail app I use over the stock one is the Yahoo Mail app in the Market. It works great But beware it is SLOW when you open it. slow but still better than the stock app. IMO

I actually prefer the stock email over the stock gmail. Easy to download apps with it I havent experienced any problems though.
