Stock email doesn't filter spam?

Is there a better email app I can use? I had all of my email forwarded to Gmail, but I don't like how it doesn't delete from my original email account when it's deleted on the phone. Thanks for any suggestions/recommendations/advice.

Anyone? I guess if I have to forward my other two email accounts through gmail like I was before then so be it. I'd rather just keep them separate unless someone can inform me how labels work. Maybe that would make it work better for me. Who knows.

Also, about the emails not deleting on the original email account.

Check the settings in your email client(s) that you are forwarding into Gmail. Mine had a setting in it to allow another client to delete messages from within their program.

As far as how labels work, I don't know since I don't use them, but from what I hear, K9 is a good email app that has more features than the stock app. I don't use it myself but maybe it does what you wanting.

Not really sure what you are shooting for, I have my Roadrunner, 2 Yahoo, My Google and jobs corporate email all separate why do you have them merged with Google? Also I am not sure what you mean about labels, can you explain more?

I don't mind all of my email accounts being separate except the fact that spam gets through the email accounts from Roadrunner. And just deleting it won't get rid of it as spam. It'll just get sent again. I had them all forwarded to gmail so that I could mark them as spam. Worked, but then when I deleted them on gmail, they would still stay in the original email account.

Labels I don't fully understand.

Due to RR restrictions you will not be able to make messages as Spam on device or Google email, RR wont allow it. I think you can do it on the web email client only.

Also Google will not be able to delete files from a RR account, you have to do it from desktop recycle bin because from a mobile device the deleted item goes to recycle bin until you follow up on desktop.

Maybe give K9 a try from Market. It may have some features to help.

I found the filtering and forwarding options on rr webmail. Either of them should work and I should be OK now. Currently I'm using the forwarding option.

I just tested k9 and the option for Spam is in the app for my Roadrunner account... Check it out on market, it should work for you also dlfrom device.

Really?!?! I don't see an option for Spam. I do see the other option though.

OK, got it. Next question: How can I create new folders? I'd like one called Spam and a few others. Is there no way to create a folder? Thanks!

Actually when I select an email and then try to move it to spam, it just stays in the inbox. Something aint right.

I haven't had any luck creating folders on device with K9 but I can create it on web version and then sync the account and have them show on device that way.

Now as for the spam option it removes the email from my device when I select it, I'm not sure what the difference about my way and yours but it should work.

I can't rename folders on the webmail so that won't work. As for the Spam working for you and not for me, I'm not sure. I select it so there is a check mark next to it and then select Menu and Batch options and Move to Spam or whatever it says and it's still there. Hmmmm.

That is really strange because it works on my device and I customize my folders on the web page without issues...

Really strange???

Is it RR webmail that you customize the folders on? Could be just my RR that won't allow it.
