I traded my wife's Droid 2 for a Thunderbolt like I have. The one we just got with rooted with a 2.3 rom but I would really like to get it back to stock for her so she don't have to deal with some of the issues with some of these roms since she's not really that tech savvy.

Is it really this easy like the first post of this thread from xda?

Could I follow the same directions but use MR2? If it was my phone I wouldn't mind trying different stuff but I want to make sure I get her's right.

Yup, looks like that will take you to stock pre-OTA. Then you should get the update. I wouldn't change anything from the directions.

Mr2 isn't going to work with this anyway, you are going to lose root and then get the official update from VZW.

Thanks got her back to stock rooted. So tonight I am going to try to unroot it so she can get any OTA updates. I'm just lucky I found some one willing to trade a Thunderbolt for a Droid 2. All because they wanted a keyboard.

IMHO keyboards are overrated after coming from BB... give me a screen keyboard any day!!!

Agreed. My wife thought she had to have a keyboard but then she never used it. She really liked my Thunderbolt, even though it's a lot bigger than the D2, so I'm glad I found her one.

One more question... Is there a way to unroot without losing her data again? Seriously if it was my phone I wouldn't care, but she'll hate it if I have to wipe her data again.
