Stock messaging app

I personally like the stock messaging app. I was wondering for those who use it do you have preview turned on?

I find that I prefer the preview on but there are some texts that I just don't want people looking at my phone and seeing on the lock screen. I do wish it still said who the message was from though.

I have preview on but for some reason the screen doesn't wake when I get a text. Anyone else having this issue?
