Stock Music player not recognizing Bluetooth controls

I have tried out a few different music players from the market (MixZing, Cubed, etc) and I still like the stock player the best for my needs.

I have uninstalled the rest and now the A2DP commands from my Motorola S9-HD BT headphones do not work (ie, next track, pause) for the stock player but the volume commands do work. Before I installed the 3rd party apps, the commands worked normally.

I believe that this has something to do with the setting of the "default player". I looked at the properties for the stock player (Home screen -> Menu -> Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications -> Music) and its NOT set to "launch by default" but if I use ASTRO file manager and tap on a MP3, the stock music player launches.

So, I ask, does anyone know how to actually set the stock music player as the default music app so A2DP BT commands will work with it?

I just tried with my old headset stereo headset I have and stock played does not like you said recognize input. 3 Cubed does recognize the input though which is strange.

Some troubleshooting I just did:

I reinstalled MixZing. Then launched an MP3 thru Astro. It asked me which app to use, I checked "default" to use the stock app. BT A2DP controls still did not work. I went to Manage Applications and cleared the default from stock player. Launched a MP3 again, this time chose MixZing as default. BT A2DP commands work with MixZing.

So, still not sure why stock music app won't recognize the A2DP commands when it is the default music app.
