Stop date/time from autoupdating

[AC Question]

So I like my clock to be 5 minutes late, it's something I got used to from childhood.
But android won't let me do this simple thing, because even if I change the time, it auto-updates back even though I specifically made "Automatic date&time" to be off. Why this is happening?

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? When it reverts back to the correct time, does the Automatic Date & Time become checked on again?
