I think I remember seeing an option for this before I did the last firmware upgrade. But anyways, there doesn't seem to be any way to do this. I have a Rogers S3 i747 running Android 4.1.1. I am not rooted and not sure I want to do that as I have no idea about rooting. Anyone know how to disable/remove the stock music player app or at least stop it from launching every time I plug in my headphones? I use Music Player (Remix) from the Play Store which is a far superior program or app to the stock one on my S3. Wish I could just uninstall the Samsung one.

Anyone able to help me? Thanks

you can not delete the music app, you may be able to set it not to be default. I use PowerAmp and you can make it the default (or at least use it to launch automatically when headphones are plugged in.

Go to Settings > Application Manager > Music Player and disable it from there. I did the same after installing Google Music. With all this bloatware, I sure miss my Nexus S... :(

Looks like I'm gonna have to take the plunge and root my phone. Never done it before. Kinda leery to do this and brick my phone. But I want to get rid of all the Rogers Wireless bloatware that I NEVER use. Lots of research to do. Appears difficult to find recent youtube video showing how on my version of phone i747M and Android 4.1.1 I guess I am also not going to be able to do this as easily on my mac. Going to have to use the old Windows PC still running Vista (POC).

Any thoughts or suggestions?
