Stop Huawei P30 Pro sending update notification sound at night

I'm hoping someone can tell me if I can turn off the sound for the update notification? My phone used to just update automatically without an alert, but now it first sends an alert sound at any time of the day or night, asking me if it can go ahead with the update.

The phone is set to update automatically at night, over wifi, so what has changed? I've hunted high and low for the solution, but short of turning off updates completely can't see how to stop it waking me up at night (or I could put the phone downstairs of course!).

It is really infuriating, as the sound comes in at all sorts of weird times - this morning it was about 3, I think.

Any suggestions please?

Doesn't that turn off everything though? So I wouldn't receive any emergency calls or texts?

Check in settings under where you manually check for software updates , anything there ? Or choose automatically install there?

That's what I mean 'Auto download over Wi-Fi' is ticked on, plus 'Update overnight' (the latter says the device will automatically update and restart between 02:00-04:00 if not in use). So the update should take place without asking....

No -- you can specify what's allowed to interrupt you in terms of calls and messages. Look for the Allow Interruptions option.

Great! Remember that you can schedule DND to turn on and turn off at times you choose -- it doesn't just have to be a manual toggle.

I was a police officer and for years I was "on call". I had to have a phone and had to answer it. I enjoyed backpacking with my kids in the mountains and deserts because there were no phones. Now, I thoroughly enjoy, as the last thing each evening, charging my phone and then....turning it off.

My sister did ask, "But what if there's an emergency with Mom or Dad at 3 a.m.?" "What, you think I'm Batman? If they have 3 a.m. emergency, call me at 7 a.m. I can't do anything anyway."
