Stop S8 from using Gallery app... and finding photos on FB

Ok, two things and I have a feeling neither is possible.

First of all I don't want to use Samsungs Gallery app for anything.
F-Stop is light years better.
One app 'forcing' it on me is the default contacts app. It makes you search for a pic using Gallery... I can't see any option to select another app. I disabled Gallery with BK Disabler and tried again... this time the Gallery icon is in the contacts app but obviously didn't do anything and still no way to use F-Stop or anything else.

Moving on to Facebook... either I'm missing something or Facebook has to have the stupidest photo browsing option in all of history.
My photos are stored in folders just like on my PC... One folder for every year. (as well as folders on various subjects for non personal photos). They are also all tagged. So once again back to F-Stop... I can simply browse by folder... pinning most accessed folders to the top. OR, I can browse using the tags I have assigned to every picture on my PC.
If you go to post a picture on FB you simply have a EVERY photo on your phone in what appears to be some random senseless order. With no option to use any real photo app, not even gallery. It seems like it lists your newest photos first but after scrolling for awhile it appears to be random... because my photos and named and dated properly. I probably have 8000 photos on my phone so their photo browser is useless. 9 times out of 10 if I want to post a photo on FB I have to wait until I'm in front of my PC.

Is there a way around either of these issues?

What happens if you go to the App Manager, select Gallery, then Defaults, and clear the app defaults?

For Gallery under 'Set as default' it has 'None set as default'.
I've most likely already changed to F-Stop everywhere it was an option.

Seems as if Samsung is trying to force its own apps on you... although...
As a test I just installed 'Contacts +' by 'Contacts Plus Team'
If I select a contact and press the edit icon it literally gives me the exact same screen as if I was using the Samsung Contacts app to edit my contact and if I select the picture it forces Gallery.
However, if I select a contact and just tap their picture instead of 'edit'... then I get a popup with 'Photo options
Choose from gallery'
Tapping that I was able to select F-stop from my defaults to select my picture.

Kind of strange...

Hmm -- presumably some oversight in the coding of the stock Gallery app. At least you found a workaround! It's also worth sending some feedback to Samsung about that.

In the Facebook app, when I click on Photo, it seems to open up a Gallery within the Facebook app itself that is sorting photos by date created, newest first.

Yeah, I think it is Facebook's own built in browser... And it's absolutely horrible. I keep my entire photo collection on my phone.

I don't think there is any way around it.
