Stop screen from coming on when disconnecting from charger cable or wireless stand?

In the morning I want to take my phone off the charger and throw it in my back pocket and go to work, except every time I unplug it or remove it from the charger the screen comes on and the iris scanner turns on like I want to use the phone. Is there a way to stop this behavior and have the screen stay off?
